I think I've just been really tired lately, really. I find it a lot harder to motivate myself to watch the cartoons I love, to do the research into crossover projects. I'm burnt out, but I have a nice reserve of commission ideas that will last me for a long time.

However, I've noticed that certain months, we're running a bit ragged on ideas. Crossovers become messy, detached; they don't make a whole lot of sense.

Turk still makes it work, he's a genius, but I think we've done way better in the past.

If things really go downhill on our part, do we have a backup plan?

Many people basically pic a favorite character or property and put that in different context and genres and basically mix it up or fabricate a whole world around the core property.

I think that your narrow focus of material is what's causing this problem. There's really only so many cartoons and comics that we can draw upon, as it's a finite resource. Even though it expands slowly, the speed at which new sources of spoof material come about is less than the speed that we can consume them.

I never really have a problem with running out of ideas or things I'd like to see, because my tastes run the gamut. If I run out of characters that other people make, then I can just make my own. (Though in my case, I'm more focused on OCs than pre-existing, admittedly.)

I dunno if there's really any solution to the problem. If your stuff needs to 'make sense' in a particular way and the resources are limited to particular genres, you're going to run out eventually. It's just math.
